Composition, fill and shell

Define the softgel from the inside out.

A useful manufacturing enquiry makes the format, composition and saleable pack clear from the start. These details help distinguish the product you want from a generic catalogue request.

01

Ingredient amount and total fill

List each ingredient and its amount per softgel. State the proposed total fill separately, including the carrier or other formulation components where known. If you have an existing formula, share its specification.

02

Gelatin shell requirements

Our confirmed softgel offering uses gelatin shells. Share preferred size, shape, colour and any gelatin-source requirements. The exact shell specification and compatibility with the fill are reviewed for your formula.

03

The finished pack

Specify softgels per blister, strip or jar and the number of finished packs. Include the preferred pack material and target storage conditions so the proposed product and pack can be assessed together.

Packaging & quantity

Match the pack to the softgel brief.

Final batch and packaging quantities are reviewed for your project. The examples here help you describe the order; they are not a commitment to supply a particular specification.

Blister, strip or Alu pack

Tell us the softgel count per card and cards per carton. Pack suitability, material and protection requirements need to match the actual softgel rather than a reference photograph.

Jar pack

Give the softgel count per jar, preferred closure, label and carton requirements. Jar capacity and packing configuration are confirmed for the selected softgel size and count.

Translate the pack into an order quantity.

Use this planning aid to describe the requirement. The result is a quantity calculation, not a quotation or confirmation of batch feasibility.

Enter both quantities to see the order size.

Manufacturing due diligence

Connect the product to its documents.

Before agreeing the order, ask for the documents relevant to the proposed formula, manufacturing site and destination market. Confirm which records will be available and when.

Site and product scope

Confirm the current Unit V documentation and the scope relevant to your proposed product. A general company credential is not a substitute for product-specific review.

Specification and batch records

Agree the finished-product specification, applicable tests and the batch documentation to be supplied. Discuss the certificate of analysis and release documentation for the order.

Pack, shelf life and artwork

Review the actual pack, storage conditions and supporting shelf-life information. Agree the formula, label and claims before committing printed materials.

Make the first conversation useful

Your softgel capsule manufacturing brief.

Send what you already know. If the formula, pack or quantity is still open, identify that in the enquiry so the next conversation can focus on the decision you need to make.

Buying for India or an export market?

Name the intended country and sales channel. Product category, ingredients, claims, labels and documentation are reviewed for the intended market before supply is committed.

Buyer questions

Before you request a quotation.

What is the starting order quantity for softgel capsules?

A typical starting point is 50,000 softgels. This is a planning guide, not a fixed rule for every enquiry. Share a smaller or different requirement too; the feasible batch and pack quantities are reviewed for the project.

Which shell material do you offer for softgels?

The confirmed offering at Unit V is gelatin softgel capsules. Include any source restrictions or shell specifications in your enquiry so the proposed materials can be reviewed.

Can I request private-label or third-party softgel manufacturing?

Yes. Share your brand, formula or product brief, pack requirement and intended market. Product fit, formulation work, permissions, documentation and commercial scope are reviewed before the order is agreed.

Is a softgel the same manufacturing route as a hard capsule?

They are separate product formats. A softgel brief needs the fill and shell specification to be considered together. If you want a two-piece hard capsule, use our hard-capsule manufacturing page.

Can I assume a catalogue formula is available as a softgel?

No. Share the exact ingredients, amounts and intended presentation. A listed ingredient or product in another dosage form does not confirm that the same formula can be made as a softgel.

How long does a softgel order take?

Delivery timing is confirmed after the formula, shell, raw materials, packaging, artwork and required review work are understood. Tell us your target date in the first enquiry.

Bring us the requirement you have.

Share the composition, pack, quantity and target market. Typical starting quantities guide the discussion; your specific project determines the next step.
