Unit V · Nutraceutical product families

Calcium supplement and tablet manufacturing.

Give your calcium product a precise manufacturing brief: ingredient source, elemental calcium amount, accompanying ingredients and finished pack. Walter’s nutraceutical catalogue provides tablet and capsule starting points for a Unit V project discussion.

Composition before quotation

Make the calcium specification clear.

A supplier needs more than the phrase “calcium tablet”. State the calcium ingredient and the elemental amount separately, then include vitamin D3 or other components in the full formula. Confirm whether the product is intended to be chewed or swallowed.

The examples below describe catalogue formulations for business enquiries. Final composition, product category, documentation and supply are agreed for your project.
01 · Chewable tablet

Milk-calcium chewable tablet · 250 mg elemental calcium

The catalogue lists a chewable tablet with elemental calcium 250 mg, vitamin D3 200 IU and L-lysine hydrochloride 10 mg. Use this as a composition reference for review.

02 · Chewable tablet

Milk-calcium chewable tablet · 500 mg elemental calcium

A separate catalogue entry lists elemental calcium 500 mg, vitamin D3 200 IU and L-arginine 10 mg. The companion ingredient differs from the 250 mg entry.

03 · Capsule

Calcium combination capsule

A capsule reference combines calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin D and flaxseed oil. Ask for the exact ingredient identities, amounts and capsule specification before selecting it.

Four decisions for the buyer

Make the product brief specific.

A precise formula and pack brief helps the team identify what is ready to quote and what needs further technical or commercial work.

01

Ingredient and elemental amount

Identify the calcium source and the intended elemental calcium amount per unit. These are separate specification fields; do not assume the mass of the ingredient is the declared calcium amount.

02

Companion ingredients

List vitamin D3 and any other nutrients or ingredients with their own units and amounts. The two catalogue chewable references have different additional ingredients.

03

Chewable or swallowable format

State the intended format and, for a chewable product, the flavour and texture requirements. Final formula and manufacturing suitability must be confirmed for that presentation.

04

Pack and serving information

Set units per finished pack and the proposed serving statement. Include the market, target audience and artwork requirements in the review.

Order and packaging planning

Starting quantities with room for discussion.

Tablets50,000 tablets
Capsule projects50,000 capsules; exact capsule type reviewed

These are Walter’s typical starting points, not a reason to rule out your enquiry. Share smaller or different quantities too; the feasible formula, batch and printed-pack requirements are reviewed together.

Bring the finished pack into the quotation.

Specify the units or net weight per pack, outer-carton quantity, label and any scoop or other packaging requirement. Supply the launch quantity and expected reorder volume separately.

The format pages explain pack planning in more detail. Final quantities and delivery timing are project-specific.

Technical documents to discuss

Ask for the current product and manufacturing-site scope, finished specification, applicable testing and agreed batch documents. Review the intended-market formula, pack, label and claims before artwork or supply commitments.

Buyer questions

Before you commission the product.

Do the 250 mg and 500 mg examples describe recommended doses?

They are catalogue composition references for a manufacturing discussion. They are not a recommendation for a person to take a particular amount. Confirm the finished specification and intended-market label before an order.

Why ask for both the calcium source and elemental amount?

Calcium ingredients contain different proportions of elemental calcium. Recording both prevents quotations from being compared on different ingredient and nutrient bases. NIH’s explanation of elemental calcium provides background on the distinction.

Can you review a different calcium formula?

Share the complete composition and required presentation. A custom brief can be assessed, but a catalogue reference does not establish suitability for every calcium source, combination or dosage form.

Is the starting order quantity flexible?

Yes. A typical starting point is 50,000 tablets or capsules, with the final batch and pack requirements reviewed for the specific project. Smaller or different enquiries are welcome.

Can the same label be used for India and export?

Name the intended countries. Product category, composition, serving information, claims and documents need the appropriate destination-market review before artwork or supply commitments.

Move from a product idea to a clear brief.

Share the formula direction, market, pack and quantity. Ask the team to confirm the current specification and the next feasibility steps.
