Dosage-form manufacturing

Tablet contract manufacturing in India

Discuss tablet third-party manufacturing with Walter Healthcare: formulation, release type, granulation, coating, packaging and product-specific feasibility.

Manufacturing fit

Define the product before confirming the production plan.

A tablet enquiry needs more than a composition and a target rate. The release profile, coating, manufacturing process and pack affect the technical work and commercial assumptions. Walter’s published oral-solid capabilities include granulation, compression, film coating and strip or blister packing. The proposed site and process are confirmed for the exact product.

Project decisions

What changes the manufacturing brief?

Release and coating

State whether the brief is immediate release, modified release, dispersible, chewable or another presentation. Do not treat different release types as interchangeable manufacturing briefs.

Reference and specification

Provide the applicable standard and reference-product details where relevant. Ask which analytical, dissolution or transfer work needs to be included in scope.

Pack and protection

Describe the proposed blister, strip or bottle, units per pack and barrier requirements. Ask the team to review the pack with the formulation and supporting stability information.

Batch and demand

State the initial tablet count and finished-pack count separately. A forecast helps assess production planning, but minimum batch and packaging quantities still require a quotation.

Review sequence

From product identity to release.

  1. Composition, strength and release-profile review
  2. Granulation or other suitable process assessment
  3. Compression and in-process controls
  4. Coating where specified and feasible
  5. Primary packing, testing and authorised release

Your initial enquiry

Quality documents and the proposed site.

Request the applicable site and product permission review, then agree the quality documentation and access conditions for your project. Technical records may need an NDA and controlled access.

Buyer questions

Questions buyers ask before a manufacturing enquiry

Can Walter quote the same composition in different tablet types?

List each presentation separately, including release type, coating and pack. Walter will assess process, permission, testing and equipment fit for each. An existing immediate-release record does not confirm a modified-release product.

What is the MOQ for tablet manufacturing?

MOQ is confirmed for the formula, batch and packaging configuration. Ask for the dosage-unit minimum, finished-pack minimum and printed-material minimum in the quotation; there is no single published MOQ covering every tablet.

Which documents should a tablet buyer request?

Start with current site and product scope, then ask about the applicable MFR, BMR, BPR, Method of Analysis, specifications, COA and stability evidence. Availability and access are agreed with QA for the product and review purpose.
